Provence Walking Tours

Just like you, I absolutely love to travel and immerse myself as much as possible in the culture of the cities that I visit. For example, my husband and I took a vacation to St. Petersburg, Russia a few years back with our two daughters. It was our first time to the country and a fantastic experience for us all – one we’ll never forget – in particular because I reserved a walking tour with a local guide during our stay.

Of course I also brought along my tourist books and the internet pages I’d printed and meticulously organized into a handy folder. Yet having an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide show us around and answer our questions made everything I’d read and researched leap from the pages and come to life. We also were able to see and learn about a few unique sights that weren’t in my research (off the beaten path!) that we would have missed if not for our wonderful guide. It’s this same passion I have for understanding and exploring our world that I bring to the provence walking tours I give for visitors to Aix-en-Provence.

Provence Walking Tours of Aix

With about 140,000 residents and architectural marvels awaiting you around every corner, Aix-en-Provence is a terrific destination for a day trip (if you’re planning to stay in another charming area village) or to have as your home-base for experiencing the southern France region. The town is very pedestrian-friendly, with most of the central streets closed to public traffic, making it ideal for sightseeing. Before your visit, you might want to read my trip planning suggestions for making the most out of your stay. Getting to Aix is easy on the TGV or by car if you decide to rent one, and once you’re here you have many fabulous accommodations to choose from that will make your stay extra special.

When you reserve a guided tour with me, we’ll see some of Aix-en-Provence’s famous (and not so famous) sights, and along our route I’ll provide you with insights that you can only get from a passionate local resident. I’ve made Aix my home since 2010 and will be happy to customize a tour specific to your interests. So if you perhaps would like to spend extra time at our ourdoor markets or take longer to browse through some of the many déco shops and stylish boutiques to find that perfect souvenir, I will cater to you!
