Guided Tour of Aix-en-Provence

Wherever I go on vacation, I love to wander through the touristy parts of a city and also seek out ”hidden” spots off the beaten tourist path by taking local guided tours. Aix-en-Provence is terrific for this. The town is very pedestrian-friendly, and a lot of ground can be covered in a relatively short amount of time. As your personal tour guide, I’ll create a memorable tour of Aix-en-Provence customized to what you’re most interested in experiencing.

My walking guided tours of Aix-en-Provence typically begin in the stylish Mazarin Quarter, passing by some of the many fountains and 17th-century private mansions that punctuate the elegance of the neighborhood. Next we’ll stroll the labyrinth of narrow streets in old town, where we’ll duck into small squares just off the beaten path, visit roman ruins, and peruse the Provençal shops before finishing at the Fontaine de la Rotonde.

We’ll take time to pause at some of Aix-en-Provence’s famous – and not so famous – historical sights, and I’ll provide the insights of a passionate local resident. Our route can be customized to your interests, so if you’d like to spend more time at our fabulous market or perhaps take longer to browse through some of the many modish shops or local artisan markets to find that perfect item, I will cater to you!
